With a unique combination of the leading production technology and the most efficient enzymes, BioCrescentino is able to release the valuable sugars from the cellulose and the hemicellulose. During fermentation the sugars are converted into ethanol. Lignin, a polymer extracted from biomass during the ethanol production process, is used at an attached power plant, which generates enough power to meet the facility’s energy needs, with any excess green electricity sold to the local grid. The industrial production carried out in the plant creates no reflux with 100% water recycling.
