Cellulosic Ethanol Plant
Nevada Iowa, USA
DuPont is a science company dedicated to solving challenging global problems, while creating measurable and meaningful value for its customers, employees and shareholders.
Location: Nevada Iowa, USA
Primary Feedstock: Corn Stover
Products: Lignocellulosic Ethanol
Technology: Mild Alkaline pre-treatment and proprietary biocatalysts
The DuPont Cellulosic Ethanol technology can process a variety of feedstocks, including agricultural residues, like corn stover, sugarcane bagasse, empty fruit bunches (palm), wheat straw, and energy crops. The collected feedstock will be received, in bales or in bulk at the facility where the biomass will be unloaded, cleaned, and ground to a uniform size for pretreatment. The process to convert these feedstocks involves pretreatment, saccharification, fermentation, ethanol recovery, filtration, evaporation, and anaerobic digestion.
